The charming bracelets
Bracelet is a piece of jewelry that adorns your wrist. The history of the bracelet can be traced back to 5000 BC when the Egyptians wore bracelets for religious and spiritual purposes. They even wore it to show their status and wealth. They wore it for superstitious reasons and the knights thought it as a protection. Even Christianity supported bracelets with rabbit’s foot to keep away rabbit which was thought to be of witches in disguise.
But eventually these superstitions faded away but the charm of these bracelets continued to fascinate all. It became a fashion statement and famous with women like Queen Victoria owning a collection of bracelets, these became a craze among women. These bracelets are of many kinds and a number of designs flood the market. The most of all the bracelets are the charm bracelets. These charm bracelets have charms like figures objects hanging from the loops of the chain. These charms are particular to each person and you can even choose your own charm. They represent the individuality of the person and therefore make popular gifts. The famous are the Italian charm bracelets which were designed by Paulo Gensini in the late 80’s. In this design, there are individual links and the charm is displayed on the face.
These bracelets can be of leather, of simple metal and the most precious ones are even made up of diamonds and gold. However it should also be noticed that these pieces should be maintained well. If you are the proud owner of the Italian piece, then you must soak it in warm water with soap and use a dry soft cloth to wipe it. For the silver bracelets, should be wiped with the wipes that are specially designed for the sterling silver. Do not use any harsh chemicals for the charms; rather regularly use the jeweler cleaner.
